About Us

Janice Marsh-Prelesnik: Since 1981 I have worked as a traditional midwife, massage therapist and musician. I own and direct Creative Health Arts, near Kalamazoo, Michigan, and provide the services of home birth midwifery care, expressive arts therapy, and gentle touch bodywork. I also teach these modalities at conferences and to local students. I have developed study guides to enhance both midwifery and herbal studies. In 2005 I self –published my first book, The Roots of Natural Mothering. To complete life’s circle of caring for people, I volunteer with a local hospice in respite care and expressive arts. While being with hospice clients I sing, play instruments, or do creative projects such as create legacy journals, art projects, etc. Currently I am a member of the improvisational singing group, Circle Singers. Born into a farming community in 1959, I grew up surrounded by nature and a love for natural process. I am the mother of four home-born, home-schooled children, and have been married to Lee Prelesnik since 1979. Contact Janice at 269-599-4237 or email Janice at creativehealtharts.com.
